Artists In The Making Coordinator (Fixed-Term)

CILT is on the lookout for an empathetic and flexible kaimahi to join our team in a fixed-term role for 6 months, with the possibility of extending. The role is Artists in the Making (ATM) Coordinator, 18.5 hours per week based in Whitianga.

Artists in the Making (ATM) is an art focused programme enhancing wellbeing and supporting people with a disability to make connections through art in Whitianga, New Zealand. The programme is based around the guiding principles of Enabling Good Lives. 

As the ATM Coordinator you would be organising and running our weekly art workshops supporting community participation and social connection for people with disabilities. We currently run whole day workshops on Wednesday & Friday and a shorter workshop on Monday. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Preferably has experience working with people with disabilities and is empathetic and patient in nature.
  • Has experience working with different art mediums and is able to share these skills with others.
  • Is able to navigate technology, including using Google workspace.
  • Is confident writing reports and undertaking administrative tasks for funding applications and accountability.
  • Is kind and flexible in their approach and dedicated to maintaining the safe and secure space that has been created at ATM.

This role is to cover extended leave for our current ATM Coordinator, who will provide full training prior to their finish date. The ATM team is composed of a support worker who will work alongside the ATM coordinator in Whitianga, and management and administration kaimahi who are based in Coromandel town.
