Heartlands Service Centre

Te Pūtahi Whaiora is a busy ‘one stop shop’ for residents in the heart of Coromandel Town, this is our HQ and where we coordinate our various projects and services.
Our excellent staff are able to provide expert advice and can help you receive support.  We provide information on health and disability services, funding to enable people to attend hospital appointments in Thames and Hamilton and rooms for agencies not located in the area to hold regular clinics.  We have computers with free internet access, a high quality printer and a friendly team of staff to help you out.

Heartlands is a government funded inter agency initiative that enables people in rural areas to access government services. The Centre is based at Te Pūtahi Whaiora in Coromandel Town and is accessed by local residents and those living in the isolated communities of Colville, Port Charles, Papa Aroha, Koputauaki, Kennedy Bay, Whangapoua and Manaia. The Goldmine Re-Use Centre & Coromandel Refuse Transfer Station

Every year in New Zealand we discard 17.5 million tonnes of waste, with 12.6 million destined to landfill. The Goldmine is a re-use centre located at the Coromandel Refuse Transfer Station - which CILT currently holds a sub-contract to oversee - and was created with the goal of helping to divert reusable goods from landfill, and overall decreasing the amount of waste in our community.
